Holiday Events at the Library

The holiday season is upon us, and the local library is gearing up to host a variety of festive events for all ages. From visits with Santa to holiday-themed games and crafts, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Visit with Santa

One of the most anticipated events of the season is the visit with Santa, scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11. This special event promises to be a fun and memorable experience for children of all ages.

December Chess Night: 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18. Meet up with fellow chess players of all skill levels. Open to families with children of all ages. Boards provided or bring your own. To register, call the youth services department starting Monday, Dec. 9. Ringtown Area Library 132 W. Main St., Ringtown; 570-889-5503; www.ringtownlibrary.org Storytime: 10:30 a.m. Thursday Dec. 12, at the senior citizens building. For ages 3 to 6. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is suggested to ensure adequate supplies. Winter Solstice Luminary Walk: 4 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21. At the library StoryWalk, Union Twp. Trail. Free; library supporters can sponsor a luminary for $10 by Monday, Dec. 16. Contact the library for information.

Preschool Playtime

Preschool playtime is an essential component of a child’s early development. At the library, preschool playtime is offered from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. for babies, infants, and toddlers.

    Mother Goose on the Loose is an interactive storytelling session designed for children aged 2-5 years. This engaging session is held at the library from 10-10:50 a.m.

In this article, we’ll delve into the various activities and attractions that make Christmas at the Park a special experience for children.

    A Special Invitation to Santa

    One of the highlights of Christmas at the Park is the chance for children to write letters to Santa Claus. This is a classic holiday tradition that allows kids to express their wishes and hopes for the upcoming year. The library will be set up with special paper, pens, and stamps, making it easy for children to craft their letters. Some lucky kids will even have their letters read aloud by Santa himself! The library will also provide coloring pages featuring Santa and his reindeer, allowing children to get creative and add their own personal touches.
