Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 26, 2026
The Short Version
- Calculators stay in your browser. Every weight, stamp value, word count, or time zone you type into a tool is worked out on your own device and never sent to us.
- No account, no profile. You can use the whole site without registering, and we do not build a profile of you or your child across visits.
- Email only if a grown-up offers it. We hold an email address only when someone writes to us or opts in to the newsletter, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
- Ads pay for it. Google AdSense supports the free tools and may set its own cookies, which you can control.
Introduction
PostKid (“we,” “our,” or “us”) publishes free letter-writing calculators and guides at postkid.com for families and classrooms. We built the site to need as little of your data as possible: the tools work without an account, and the maths runs on your device. This policy explains the little we do collect, why, and the choices you have. It applies to all visitors and is written with privacy rules such as the GDPR, CCPA, and COPPA in mind.
What the Calculators Do Not Send
The Postage Calculator, Mail Delivery Time Estimator, Envelope & Paper Size Matcher, Pen-Pal Time-Zone Helper, Letter Word Count & Reading Time tool, and Stamp Quantity Calculator all run entirely in your browser. The values you enter — a letter’s weight, stamp denominations, paper sizes, city time zones, and pasted letter text — are used only to show a result on your screen. They are never transmitted to us, stored on our servers, or accessible to us in any form. Close the tab and they are gone.
What We Do Collect
If you contact us or subscribe: we receive the email address you provide, and any message you send, so we can reply or send the newsletter you asked for. We keep contact emails only as long as needed and you can ask us to delete them.
Standard server logs: like any website, our hosting records basic technical data such as browser type, referring page, and a truncated IP address, used to keep the site running and secure. These logs are rotated automatically and not used to identify you.
Children’s Privacy
PostKid is made for children to use alongside a parent, guardian, or teacher. The tools require no sign-up and collect nothing from the child using them. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and we ask that a grown-up handle any email contact or newsletter sign-up. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Cookies and Advertising
We use only the cookies needed for the site to function, plus those set by Google AdSense, which funds the free tools. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising through Google Ads Settings and learn more at Google’s advertising policies. We do not currently run a separate web-analytics tracker.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the information we hold about you
- Correct or delete that information
- Object to or restrict how we use it
- Withdraw consent to marketing at any time
To exercise any of these, email support@postkid.com.
Data Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect the limited data we hold, though no method of transmission over the internet is ever completely secure.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time and will post any changes here with a new “Last updated” date.
